Candice McKenzie Q&A

Candice McKenzie Q&A

Candice McKenzie Q&A – an insight into this passionate and ambitious business owner/DJ.

Candice is truly inspirational; having won several awards, appeared on television panels and even been a judge on the Eurovision Song Contest!

She is hardworking and driven and beginning the early stages of launching her own business. It was a pleasure for me to be able to design her logo and she was kind enough to answer a few questions for me.

  1. How long have you worked at SOFY?

SOFY is a new venture that I have been working on for the past six months.  It is an extension and combination of my current work as an DJ & events organiser

  1. Why do you love what you do?

I love what I do because it is a combination of what I love, and what I am good at.  I’m providing services and I’m helping people.  I have worked with people from all different walks of life, plus brands and corporate clients.  Variety is the spice of life!

  1. What makes your job difficult?

Sometimes having to work long and unsociable hours can be difficult.  With all different types of work you get good and bad, I try not to dwell too long on any difficulties that I may have.  I keep it moving, and focus on the positive.

  1. What is your top tip for anyone considering a role like yours?

Enjoy what you do.  Keep smiling and be nice to people

  1. How has working with Nova Creative Solutions helped your business?

Nova Creative Solutions really listened to my plans and what I would like to achieve with SOFY.  From then, the perfect logo was created that is attractive to my target audience but still hints of me, my personality and my previous work / brand.  Nova has also been very helpful when it comes to marketing tips and tricks.   I find following Nova on twitter is very useful.

  1. Which public figure (past or present) do you most admire?

I really admire Patricia Bright (Online Content Creator).  She had to foresight to use a social media platform to carve out her career before it became fashionable to do so.  I also admire Brand Specialist Kubi Springer of SheBuildsBrands.com and Nova Creative Solution’s CEO Janet Martin.

  1. What’s your favourite place (to eat/relax/play) in Deptford?

I like the Rough & Ready Café

  1. Any upcoming events/promotions you’d like to mention?

All of my forthcoming dates can be found on www.candicemckenzie.com/schedule

  1. Favourite song?

The Energy by The Astro Trax Team
